Artist's Comments

The seeming-boss of the crew heaved a sigh, noted the page number of his book, and tucked it under his arm. The best word for the creature was... intimidating. One could see why he was a bouncer. Even a very inebriated troublemaker would have thoughts of mortality when being loomed over by a seven-and-a-half foot tall hyena-headed monstrosity with sharp claws, sharp teeth, and a sharp knife.

"No begging." The creature's voice was gravelly, and not very far off from a snarl, with a peculiar accent. "Pay fee."

"Cover fee twenty gold per person, pay Drachmir." The creature said slowly, as if reciting something drilled into it. The hyena-man poked a single, clawed thumb into his muscled chest, indicating that it was the selfsame Drachmir. He looked you over for another moment. "No. Thirty-five gold. Look like trouble."
