As always, I find your coloring brilliant. The soft transitions from one shade to the next, and the wonderful use of lighting makes for an excellent piece. The hooded figures in the background really create a sense that the centrain character is leading an army, but the rear figures are faded enough to keep the focus squarely on the "general." The bright sunburst helps to draw the eye across the picture, but I think it might be too bright. As I look at the picture, I find myself drawn to the sky more than the central figure.

There are two major points that I find odd. First, the figure's hair throws me off a bit. While it has stylish points, the hair sticking out so sharply suggests either an extremely strong wind or that the figure is tumbling backward at very high speeds. Judging from the picture as a whole, it doesn't seem like either of these is the case, so I feel like his hair is extremely contrary to the motion of the piece as a whole. The piece as a whole lacks enough movement to make that hair flow feel believable to me. If I were to suggest a way to keep the hair, I would say to add more visible effects of strong winds. It would take a very strong wind to make someone's hair fly like his -- hair does have a surprising amount of weight and doesn't just fly around willy-nilly. Otherwise, his hair should probably curve down instead of up to reflect the weight. All told, I feel there needs to be a lot more motion throughout the picture to make the piece properly accept that sort of hairstyle.

The other part is something I'm just not sure I understand. What is that silver streak among the hooded figures? A river? Some sort of metal bar? It seems to be at eye-level with the hooded men, but at the same time it separates the army. It feels out of place to me and I would probably replace it with more hoods. Alternatively, if you were trying for some kind of lighting effect, I would put lighter-color hoods in that section to make the army continuous, but also allow the light play.

All told, this piece does a good job of conveying an army prepared for battle, led by a general ready to kill.

Thank you very much. ^^ As for the two things you mentioned: The bright streak is a gap between two marching parts of the army. I thought that the ground would need to be brighter. But it can be seen as something different which is not a wished effect. I will have to work on it more, to make clear that this is actually a part of ground between the two marching groups.

As for the hair: The centaur rears up so I thought the hair would flow with his movement plus the wind in the drawing. The wind is already coming from behind him and with the fast movement upwards I hoped to make the hair look a bit more dynamic like that. And stiffer than human hair too, since he is partly horse. But I'll try out a few ways to make his hair a bit more *realistic-like* in ps, simply to see if I can keep the flow of the drawing even though I change a major part of the dynamics in it. ^^ Thanks for the critique!
